The Sound

What makes a Sound? A sound is a large sea or ocean inlet between two bodies of land, and Prince William Sound is a hidden gem along the rugged Alaska coastline. Shielded from the high seas by barrier islands and surrounded by mountains and glaciers, this pristine paradise remains isolated, far from the industrial world.

Nestled between Cook Inlet and Yakutat Bay, and located on the east side of the Kenai Peninsula, Prince William Sound is surrounded mostly by the Chugiak National Forest, which is the second largest national forest in our country. The result is a landscape that is breathtakingly beautiful, and icy pure waters that remain unspoiled, just like the fish.
